Overcoming Betrayals

One of the worse things to happen to anyone is betrayal-as in violating your privacy by sharing your secrets with the opposition in order to bring you down. Betrayal is treacherous.

Until now, I never realized how deep the betrayal of Judas Iscariot of Jesus Christ was. Also, the betrayal of King David by Ahitophel, whom Theologians named the Judas of the Old Testament, was equally horrendous.

Until you have suffered betrayal, you may not actually understand how traumatic it is.

Betrayal is hard for both the betrayer and the betrayed. It is interesting to note that both of the aforementioned betrayers in the Old and New Testaments committed suicide.

Suicide, which is intentionally killing yourself, is not from God but from the devil.

Christ came that we might have life, whereas satan’s mission is to steal, kill and destroy lives.

If you are hurting because of betrayals, I can relate with you because I have been there too. However, I did not stay down there for long. I am grateful that through God’s Word, I was able to process the hurts appropriately and thus overcome the oppressive feelings.

I am sharing with you how I overcame betrayals.

Your weapon of war:

Forgiveness: You cannot afford to come down to the level of your betrayers. Therefore, you should forgive them, and refuse to become bitter. You must not give liberties to toxicity, depression and eventual suicide.

Do not allow the devil take advantage of your ignorance to cause you to self-destruct.

The Breastplate of Righteousness:

If you are born again, you have become the righteous in Christ. You must guard your heart with all diligence for it is the wellspring of life.

With righteousness as breastplate you can love your enemies despite their actions.

When the prince of the world came to test Christ, he found nothing of his in Him. In like manner, do not grant access to the devil by harboring evil in your heart.

Therefore,
Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsover things are of good report … think on these things. Philippians 4:8”

What to do:

Pray to God: King David responded to the betrayal of Ahitophel his trusted adviser, by asking God to counter his wise advice with the foolishness of Hushai. (See 2Samuel chapters 16-17; 1Chronicles 27)

Be a high-achiever: Focus on the goal and not on the goads. Jesus Christ knew one of his closest friends was going to betray Him. In Divine planning, that betrayal would spearhead Christ into the next level.

Christ focus was on accomplishing the mission and not on the miscreant. You have a purpose for your existence, and the betrayers have as well. Let them do their job. The winner takes it all. Strive for excellence. Fight the good fight of faith.

Always remember that God uses all things to accomplish His purpose, and for your greater good. Refuse to allow who the betrayer is to hurt you.

David’s son and closest aide betrayed him, but he still remained king. Joseph’s siblings sold him out into slavery. Eventually, they grovelled at his feet, and he still ruled over them. Judas Iscariot betrayed Christ for gain yet he lost his life and Christ is still King of kings.

Those closest to you are capable of hurting you the most. That is what it is. Take it in your stride and move on to greater glory. See them as necessary evils and the elevator taking you to your next levels.

Prayers:

I release to you now, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to enable you forgive all who have hurt you.

I speak to your mind to now forgive everyone, let go all hurts, heal, and manifest a wholesome personality now.

I pray the eyes of your understanding is enlightened so that the lessons in your present challenges sinks in, so that you will not have to retake the class.

I pronounce you cleansed from whatever attracts mean and wicked persons to you. You will from henceforth exude the fragrances of God. Glory, honor, and appreciation will define your relationships.

Your bloodline is free of recurring evil trends, and your children will turn out well.

I pray your parents will see God’s goodness in your life, rejoice over you, and commit their lives to God.

You will not miss the time of your visitation by majoring over minors. Instead, you will redeem the time and make unprecedented progress.

As you enter the new seasons of life, you will grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ; favor will shield you, enemies will serve your best interest, and you will always take the higher road towards excellence, in Christ matchless name. Shalom!

    1. That must be really hard for you to live with daily, and thankfully your 2 kids have you, however, think about this, you are in your right mind, and would not do what your wife is doing, the point is we cannot be upset at a blind person not watching were they are walking, your Wife is at least emotionally and mentally blind. Remember God can still work Miracles. This life is full of trials, stay strong and courageous you will reap a great reward.
